Hello! I'm Mikala Hicks, a recent graduate from Virginia State University. I'm 22 years old and have extensive experience in childcare. I started babysitting and dog sitting at 15, and for the past two summers, I've been a gymnastics summer camp coach. In this role, I managed over 100 children aged 3-15, organized group and individual activities, handled meals and snacks, and created a positive and trustworthy environment. I have experience babysitting children from 13 months to 17 years old. Additionally, I tutored at Petersburg High School while attending VSU. Bonding with the kids I meet. Role models and good examples are important when it comes to a child's development, and as a shy little girl in my childhood, I remember it being hard to make friends. I think older caregivers can help bring a shy child out of their shell, helping them develop people and interpersonal skills. I strive for strong relationships with the kids and their families!
