A little bit about me

Hello! I will be moving to Dallas from Aspen Colorado the first week of June. I’ve been (live-in) Nannying a 3 year old boy the last year here. I’m moving to Dallas to spend more time with my family and go back to school to get my Masters in Fine Arts and a second graduate degree in Early Childhood Education. I currently have a bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully getting to know your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In Highschool I volunteered weekly at the elementary school across the street my junior and senior year. When I moved to Aspen in 2022 I spent all my weekends babysitting 1-5 year olds with the occasional 8-12 year olds. The last year I left my previous job as a registrar assistant to become a full time nanny for a 2/3 year old and it has changed my life!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I spend as much time with the kids I work with outside, going to the park, swimming or playing in the home yard. On a rainy day (or if the child requests) we go to the museum or the library. I love to cook and bake so if the kids are interested we’ll make snacks for the week together!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being present with the kids. I always want to be prepared to listen and understand what’s going on with the kids whether it’s something small or something big. If you’re present with them you can understand what’s they need, sometimes before they even know. Kids have their own language, so the only way to understand their needs and emotions, you have to be ready to listen, be patient and be present.

My experience with special needs children...

I have minimal experience with special needs children, though, I would like to have more. When I was 13-15 I spent a few summers volunteering at a “Vacation Bible School” in Tennessee. We were assigned new classrooms and ages every Summer. One summer I had the privilege of being in the special needs classroom. I left wanting to go back! I had thought about signing up for a Buddy program when I Moved to Aspen a few years ago but my job did not give me the extra time for volunteering. When I moved to Dallas I would like to find more opportunities if I have the time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don’t have a specific moment, but my favorite days are the moments in Summer when I get to see the kids enjoying nature. Rolling around in the grass putting there toes in the cold water or running around in the sprinklers! I know those were my favorite moments as a kid and I love to see it happening for them.
