More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been babysitting on and off for the past 11 years. My childcare experience also includes working in a daycare, caring for children in a church classroom, and working as a temporary travel nanny. I have cared for children of all ages, from newborns through age 15, and have also provided tutoring.
I have experience working with neurodiverse children and am familiar with a variety of calming and regulation techniques. I try to meet each child where they are developmentally and individually, creating an environment where they feel safe, comfortable, and supported.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I enjoy doing with children include:
• Playground trips, walks, and outdoor exploration
• Imaginative and creative play
• Arts, crafts, and hands-on projects
• Reading and storytelling
• Board and card games
• Music, dancing, and movement
• Baking and simple cooking
• Age-appropriate educational and developmental activities
I enjoy adapting activities to each child’s age, interests, developmental needs, and comfort level. Parents are always welcome to specify which activities they do or do not want their child to participate in, and I will follow their preferences and boundaries.

My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for neurodiverse children with a variety of communication, sensory, emotional regulation, and developmental needs. I am familiar with calming, regulation, and co-regulation techniques and can adapt activities, communication, expectations, and routines to meet each child where they are.
I have also worked with children who, when significantly dysregulated, at times expressed their distress through hitting, biting, or other physical behaviors. I was able to help reduce these behaviors by calmly giving the child appropriate space to experience and process their emotions, and help them to develop safer ways to regulate and co-regulate without physical aggression.
I prioritize understanding each child’s individual needs and recognizing signs of overstimulation or distress before they escalate. I also follow parents’ established routines, accommodations, behavioral approaches, and preferred regulation strategies to provide consistent and supportive care.
