Hi my name is Monica, I recently earned a Bachelor's in Public Health. I have an 8 year old boxer/pitt, and she's 110 pounds of love. I also have a kitty named Georgie. I love the outdoors from mowing grass to hiking. For the last several years I was my mother's live-in caregiver until she passed away in July of this year. To say I was devastated is an understatement. Even though I have no kids of my own I have always loved them and it seems other children such as my best friends kids, and other family members kids seem to pickup on that and im always the kids favorite. 👍 I don't mind to clean and I am a fairly good cook..

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

A few years back, before moving to Kentucky I had a friend who moved in beside of me. I baby-sat her one year old and 3 year old girls on numerous occasions. Emily the 3 year old always wanted to have tea parties so we did. Very bright little girl. She loved to read so we read a lot of books. Emily was also learning about the internet and you tube so we sang and danced to baby shark several times a day Lol.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy cooking with kids if they are old enough to assist. On nice days I like to take the kids outside to play (if they want to go outside, I wouldn't make them do anything they didn't want to do). If the children are of age to decide on the activity for the day then a lot of times I like to give them option to make the decision, which I think is very important for a child

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are several important areas a nanny has. One of the most important is being patient. A nanny also needs to be caring and compassionate. Also a nanny needs to have a calm demeanor, and be kind. Show the little ones attention, and always watch over them.

My experience with special needs children...

These memories are not of me being a nanny just school memories. The memories that I have of special needs children most is when I was in the 4th grade, Mrs Hobbs classroom. We had a student who had muscular dystrophy and a very hard time walking. This girl was so independent and strong, and funny. The teacher assigned one person to take her to the lunch room early before the rowdiness started, and I was the pupil she chose all school year to help when ever she needed it.
