More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a daycare teacher for 3 years, and an Behavior technician working with children with autism for a year.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing activities with children that are fun, engaging, and also help them learn and grow at the same time. I like things like reading stories, doing arts and crafts, coloring, and helping with simple hands-on projects that let them be creative. I also enjoy outdoor play like walks, park time, bubbles, scooters, and other active games.
I like incorporating learning into play as well—things like counting games, ABC activities, puzzles, and helping with early learning skills in a way that feels fun instead of structured. I also enjoy imaginative play, like pretend cooking, doll play, or building with blocks, because it helps children express themselves and stay engaged.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building trust and creating a safe, consistent environment where children feel secure, understood, and cared for. It’s not just about supervision—it’s about being patient, attentive, and present so each child feels supported in their daily routine and emotional needs.
It also means communicating well with parents, following their routines and expectations, and being reliable so they can feel confident their children are in good hands. For me, being a nanny is about showing up with care, responsibility, and consistency every day.

My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with children with special needs as a Behavior Technician (BT), where I provided one-on-one support to help children build communication, social, and daily living skills. In that role, I followed individualized behavior plans, collected data on progress, and worked closely with families and supervising clinicians to ensure consistent care.
I’ve supported children with autism and other developmental needs by using patience, structure, and positive reinforcement. I’m comfortable helping with communication devices, managing transitions, and adjusting activities based on each child’s needs and comfort level.
This experience has strengthened my ability to stay calm, consistent, and attentive, especially when children need extra support, and it has taught me how important patience, routine, and encouragement are in helping them thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was baking simple cookies with a little one who was determined to “do it all by myself.” She insisted on pouring the flour, which ended up being a little too enthusiastic—there was definitely more flour on the counter than in the bowl. Instead of getting frustrated, we turned it into a fun moment, and she proudly called it her “snowstorm kitchen.”
By the end, the cookies were a little messy but still came out great, and she was so proud to share them. I loved seeing how something simple like baking could turn into a fun learning moment full of laughter and confidence.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Hampton, VA: Donya G.
Hello everyone! I am relocating to the Hampton area in early May due to my partner’s job. I currently nanny a two year old boy in Charlotte, who I’ve been with since he was 4 months old. I’d LOVE to be back with another infant or younger toddler, as that is my bread and butter. On the side, I do have a handful of other families with older kids who I babysit for date nights and such as well!
Additionally, I worked for a nanny agency back in college, so I do have extensive experience with a variety of ages/parenting styles/family sizes :)
