More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I cared for children even outside of work, whether it’s for a friend or family member, if I’m free and someone ask me if I can help them out for a few hours the absent is always “ of course!”. It is so important for a child to know , see, and feel loved by not only the parents but from others so they feel safe and secured in their environment.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy spending time outside , whether that’s playing on the playground or playing with chalk, I believe getting fresh air is very important and needed. I also enjoy coloring ,painting, and doing activities that help with fine motor skills. I also enjoy going over education and feel it should be implemented in their everyday life no matter the age. It’s exciting to see what makes a child thrive and grow in every aspect.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part is safety and understanding. Being a nanny is not something everyone can do, it has to me something you truly enjoy and put your everything into. When you become a nanny, you become part of a family and community that is putting their trust in you to make a difference. The love you pour in is something that will touch the hearts of others, and you must provide that trust back.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children with different forms of autism. It has been very impactful to myself and the children I have worked with because, seeing the child and spending time with him or her makes you pick up the habits and the why in some behaviors which then gives a plan. I have been blessed to hear and know that I have impacted a families life by giving the child another outlook on life and change their behaviors into something more enlightening. Feelings play a big role and also understanding how they operate.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment is when one of my children came up to me and told me they love me. It was a proud moment because it gave me clarity that I was doing something right, that child felt safe with me. The goal is to always make sure the children I care for know that I will be here for them through the bad and good times.

Hi! My name is Averie, and I am a sophomore in college. I have been taking care of kids since I was about 12 years old. I would say I am the most comfortable with toddlers and anything older. I have been in charge of providing meals, taking kids to/from school and other activities, alongside just general entertainment (i.e. crafts, games, etc.). I have also occasionally tutored kids before. I am also willing to provide household care, that being cleaning, cooking, or running errands. I am also comfortable with pets of all kinds, including large dogs.
While I am not CPR certified yet, I am in the process of getting that done through the Red Cross.
