A little bit about me

I am a high school graduate with flexible hours and fluent in English. Growing up I was the eldest of four, which made me very aware of the importance of safety for children at a young age. We had a sickly mother who was in and out of the hospital and I was the caregiver of my siblings as well as my mother. I recently worked with an autistic boy which was a challenge but I remained humble and worked to the best of my ability. We had a lot of theraphy sessions, as well as speech lessons. One of the most challenging situations with working with an autistic child is communication. Logan lacked the ability to communicate using words. However, that made me think of other ways to communicate. For example, we had a set of pictures with foods and drinks for Logan to choose from. This system made him more comfortable to communicate with me. With all this being said, these experiences have shaped me into an excellent caregiver. I am caring, observant, creative, and well aware of things around me. I have learned so much after having to take on a role of caring for others at such a young age.
