A little bit about me

I am a happy mother of five! As I raised my children I provided childcare in my home and then as my youngest became of age to be more independent I have been doing nannying for families in their homes. I enjoy all ages and my fascination for child development allows me to love what I do every day. I’m very easy-going so becoming a third set of hands to help in the daily routine of the family comes naturally to me .I enjoy being outside and love sharing my love of nature with every age child.I find teaching through play and sharing my joy in the day very rewarding .I’m lovingly referred to as the baby whisperer because my demeanor is calm .I feel honored as I get welcomed in to a home to become a pivotal part of a child’s day and certainly go about it as I would care for my own family with respect for each family’s individual values

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Since my childcare profession coincided with my own children’s early years, it evolved very naturally to be able to love other people‘s children at the same time as respecting each parents individual choices of parenting styles. I believe childcare requires a perfect match because it’s not something that you can provide sincerely if your not feeling genuine. The care ranges from having a child from morning till night as parents commute to work from home parents, to children that are at school and then need to be going to many activities.. families vary.Age range has been 0-15 . I’ve commuted up to an hour, provided plenty if flexibility & reliability.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love sharing my awe and appreciation of the simple parts of the day especially outside.Having a child grow to feel safe and comfortable with me is wonderful (and give peace to parents.)Of course daily fun like crafts,games,chatting in the car on the way to school are also important to me.

My experience with special needs children...

Through the years of my childcare profession, I have experienced a small gambit of special circumstances from pica, OCD, ADHD, severe& rare genetic conditions, down syndrome

The most important part about being a nanny...

Of course the obvious one is soothing a baby or a boo boo ,building confidence, cheering up after a tuff day . One of my favorites was a little boy i had since 2 months would introduce me as “ my Nancy”
Another favorite was my first experience with Down syndrome was a sweet 12 yr old girl and I put some observations together to suggest some ideas to help her with family time, 4 kids total and they worked wonders.Another touching moment was as my teens aged out they opted to come to me rather then go home after school.Getting to share with a parent what we had learned that day is awesome.
