I have babysat for family friends since middle school and babysit here and there in Rexburg or surrounding areas! ☺️

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

There’s too many to choose from!! I’d say the most popular outdoor activities for the kids from 8+ loved doing was doing tricks on the trampoline, nerf gun wars, and food challenges. For babies, toddlers and kids below 7, blowing bubbles, watching tv, building blocks, and reading stories were their most popular activities.

When there were chores to do, I created some helpful and fun activities to get the children involved in cleaning (with permission from the parents). I loved creating competitions between the children and I to see who would do the household chores the fastest, the neatest, and with the most care! For some activities, we would even compete together as a team as a race against time! For example, if there were dishes left in the sink, each of us would have a responsibility to get the dishes done within 20 minutes. I would first make sure that the heavy and glass dishes are taken care by me or the eldest. Whatever the activity was, it was always memorable for us all😊

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, it’s about loving them in simple ways. Children are so precious and in these early stages of life, helping them realize and feel how special they are will help them flourish in life! When I took care of the same children for 4 years, I learned how important my opinion of them and their talents mattered. One time, one of the boys I cared for was trying to build a castle of blocks. It looked cool but there was a mess everywhere! I was a bit frustrated because I asked his siblings a bunch of times to help me clean up in time for their parent’s return. I wanted to kindly tell him to clean up what he was doing and build another time. He refused but rather than being upset, I saw how serious he was working on his castle and how much he planned every little detail. This was important to him. Instead, I acknowledged his hard work, how great he is with his hands, and how amazing his castle looked. His eyes beamed. This type of love helped created memorable experiences❤️
