More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have several years of experience working with children through my roles as an Assistant Teacher, Substitute Teacher, and Teacher Assistant. I have supervised children, assisted with learning activities, supported transitions, maintained safe environments, and communicated with teachers and leadership about children's needs and behaviors. I also have experience preparing meals, following menus, and maintaining cleanliness and food-safety standards. My caregiving background has strengthened my ability to provide hands-on care, follow routines, recognize individual needs, and offer patience and companionship. Although much of my childcare experience has been with school aged children, I believe these skills transfer well to caring for infants and toddlers. I understand the importance of close supervision, patience, hygiene, safety, consistent routines, meals, and giving each child the individual care and attention they need to learn, grow, and feel secure.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing activities with children both indoors and outdoors. I love taking them to the park, playing in the yard, and finding activities that are not only fun but also help them learn, explore, and grow. I believe children learn through play, so I enjoy being hands-on, creative, and involved with them while making sure they are safe and having a good time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, trustworthy, and nurturing environment for the child. Parents are trusting you with what matters most to them, so communication, reliability, patience, and attentiveness are extremely important to me. For infants and toddlers especially, I believe a nanny must pay close attention to their needs, routines, safety, feeding, hygiene, development, and emotions. I want the child to feel cared for, respected, and comfortable while also supporting their growth and development. I would treat every child in my care with the same patience, compassion, protection, and respect that I would want for my own family.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with children with special needs started in 2021. My first experience was working with 3–5 year old children in a Head Start classroom. I quickly realized that the job was very hands-on and required close supervision in every area. I also learned that every child is different and may have different needs, so patience and understanding are very important. I truly enjoyed the experience because it taught me a lot about children and how to meet them where they are. Today, I also have personal experience supporting my sister with my niece as needed throughout her journey. These experiences have helped me become more patient, observant, compassionate, and willing to learn what works best for each child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To be honest, I don't have a favorite nanny moment yet because I am looking forward to beginning that experience with your little scholars. However, I do have many special moments with the little scholars who have crossed my path in classrooms, hallways, and after-school programs. One of my favorite things is when I see their faces light up when they see me and they say, “Mama,” “Dad,” “Ms. P,” or “Ms. Star.” Those moments mean a lot to me because they let me know that I have made a positive impact in a child's life. I believe the positivity, love, patience, and encouragement I pour into children can stay with them even after they leave my classroom.
