For the past four years, I’ve been learning about child development through high school classes, which have given me a strong understanding of how children grow, learn, and behave at different stages. Last year, I had the opportunity to do a co-op placement at a local daycare, where I gained hands-on experience working with young children. I enjoyed it so much that I chose to return to the same daycare for my senior year co-op, continuing to build my skills and deepen my passion for working with kids.

I enjoy doing fun and engaging activities with children, like arts and crafts, reading books, playing games, and spending time outside when the weather is nice. I love helping kids use their creativity and imagination while also keeping them active and safe. I’m always happy to adjust activities based on their age and interests to make sure they’re having a great time.
My experience with special needs children...
One of my senior year classes involves being an aide in a special education classroom, which has given me valuable experience working with children who have a range of needs and abilities. This opportunity has helped me develop more patience, understanding, and strong communication skills. It’s been incredibly rewarding to support these students and learn how to adapt activities to meet their individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when I helped a toddler I was caring for learn how to tie their shoes for the first time. We had been practicing for days, and when they finally got it on their own, their face lit up with pride. It was such a sweet and rewarding moment to see their confidence grow, and it reminded me how meaningful the little milestones can be when working with children.
