I love to plan age appropriate activities to help them with their current developmental needs. Adjusting reading style to help them enunciate words well, introducing new words, and encouraging them to practice reading in their own.

The most important part of being a nanny is being present for the children. Being attentive to their needs, watching the areas that they’re struggling and areas that they’re thriving, and helping them to know that they are cared for all requires being present for them.

I absolutely love watching kids grow and develop their personalities. One of the kids I nannied (age 3 when I started) LOVED the color brown. About a year later, he announced to me that he also liked the colors purple and orange. When I asked what he liked about them, he said “because when you mix them, they make brown!” It was so cute and funny. Apparently he had been painting with his mom and she explained some principals of mixing colors.
