A little bit about me

Hello there,
I am a fun, dependable, and loving caregiver. I started my own babysitting business when I was 14. In High School I lifeguarded, coached a swim team of 75 children (ages 5-18), worked at a daycare in the infant and toddler rooms, taught private swim lessons to ages 6mo-15yr., worked at a children's fun center where I hosted children's birthday parties (no I didn't wear a clown costume), and had a book of families I babysat for regularly. I started volunteering in my church's nursery at age 15, which included ages newborn-5yrs. My childcare experience is going on 26 years. Im currently in the process of becoming an Early Education teacher. I have a degree in Business Administration. I have been in Sales/Marketing/Management for the last 16 years. Covid has changed my outlook and Im now looking to help enrich the lives of children. I am CPR and First Aide certified.

"Natalie started babysitting for us when she was only around 12yrs old (things were different in the 90’s Ha!). We had an older son 9, at the time and had just had our newborn baby girl. On weekends or non school nights, she would stay with us and get up with the baby so my husband and I could sleep, as we both worked demanding jobs. We used her for several date nights. Natalie was by far the best babysitter in the neighborhood, some of us would combine our kids together so both families could use her lol. Then during the summer of 2003 (I think), she kept both of our kids full time during the summer, until she went back to school. We were very excited for her when she recently reached out and told us she was going back to caring for children."

She was excellent with keeping them in their routines, engaging in play time, and always came up with fun things for them to do together. She kept our daughters a few times for a weekend so we could get away. We also had a pool in our backyard and she taught our oldest how to swim and tread water, and worked with our youngest who was terrified of water. My husband (Tom) and I highly recommend her!"

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing age appropriate children activities such as arts and crafts, board games, telling jokes, reading, going to the park, going to the library, helping them use their imagination, go for walks, dance parties, bake cookies, hike, explore nature, playing sports, and anything to make them laugh.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To engage children of all ages by being fun, loving, caring, and enthusiastic. I feel it’s very important for a nanny to connect with children at their level of understanding. Children aren’t a one size fits all group. That’s why it’s important to get to know the children as if they are your own so you can develop a strong relationship to make them feel safe, heard, understood and protected while in the nannies care.

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for my autistic brother who is 7 years younger than me. I set up a school room in our home and taught him his colors, letters, numbers, coloring in the lines, writing his name, and riding his bike. I would even hold PTA meetings for our parents (lol). I also worked at a disabled youth hospital when I was in college, and I babysat for a baby who had a trach and feeding tube. My son also has ADHD and anxiety.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping a troubled 4yr old boy find his voice and confidence through positive reinforcement, lots of praise, setting boundaries, showing lots of affection, giving lots of one on one attention. He is now my God Son and is a mentor to my own children now. He is the perfect example on why you should never give up on a child, no matter what they have been through!
