A little bit about me

I’m Tasha Scott! I am currently living in Nebraska where I studied at a local college. I have just recently completed my first two years with an Associate degree in Science. I have 5 years of experience in the childcare industry from daycare facilities to babysitting and worked as a full-time nanny for almost 6 months in 2020. I speak Swedish fluently and lived there a few years back. I love being outdoors and have a passion for athletics. I love to actively teach and nurture children. My goal is to seamlessly fit in with a family to meet the needs of their children and make things easier on the adults.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have a great amount of experience with all ages of children. I have worked in two different childcare facilities that had kids from newborn to primary school age. I was the assistant teacher for a pre-k program and also worked in the childwatch program at my local YMCA. I have lots of experience with younger kids, but also worked in an after school program for elementary and middle school students. I volunteered as a mentor for middle school students two years with my local church as well. I also have some experience with special needs children. I worked with a few students with autism and two with chromosomal disorders that were nonverbal. I also know how to feed children with a tube. During Covid, I spent six months nannying for a family who had three children including an infant. I feel comfortable working with all ages and activity levels.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking children on walks, playing outside, going to the pool or beach. Anything to increase a child’s sensory exposure is a great activity in my opinion. Coloring and crafts is great to expand their creative horizons. Social time with other children, such as time at the park, is always fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is providing the care the parents need, while also creating a fun and nurturing environment for the children. The goal is to relieve the stress of childcare for the parents, while also giving one on one, consistent care to the children.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with a few students with autism and adhd. I also have experience with nonverbal students and I had two students with chromosomal disorders in my class. I know how to feed using a feeding tube and am comfortable with walkers and wheelchairs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment as a nanny, was the moment I took a video of a child taking his first steps and sent it to his mother. I had started my nannying journey with that child at just 4 months and was able to watch him start crawling, then walking. I was able to be there and witness so many exciting stages of development and in that moment, I felt very fulfilled as a caregiver.
