Being there as a person of comfort and safety for a child and also someone they can enjoy being with while their parents are away. Nanny’s can be a big part in childrens’ lives I think and also help to show them that even when their main caregivers are away, they will always be cared for in the best way.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I have never been a nanny - but while I worked at a daycare, my favorite moments were when my kids came up and just gave me random hugs. It made me really appreciate my job and being able to connect with the kids. Another thing I really loved was experiencing that the children were learning and growing. One time as I was reading a book to an under-2 year old, he repeated the word “excavator” after me and I was totally amazed and loved that I could be a part of his learning.
