More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteer experience working with families and teenagers in DCF and CPS within specialized programs.
My partner and I have two amazing nephews, one who is currently 13, and one who is 16 and on the autism spectrum, so I also have experience caring for children with special needs!
In addition, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 5 years caring for elder adults in long-term care and assisted living facilities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’m naturally creative and love spending time reading, doing arts and crafts, exploring new places, and enjoying the outdoors. The beach is my happy place, and I love swimming and hunting for sea glass and other beach treasures. In the fall you’ll often find me on a nature walk, visiting pumpkin patches, or cheering on a football game. I love sharing these interests with children and encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a love for the world around them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a caregiver is being someone that both children and their families can trust. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and dependable environment where children feel loved, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. I believe children thrive when they have stability, consistency, and the freedom to express their unique personalities, interests, and emotions without judgment.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with children on the autism spectrum, children with emotional and behavioral issues, and children with ADHD/ADD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I first started out as a part-time nanny, I worked for a family that had three children ages 3, 7, and 9. The 7 year old I cared for had ASD.
One of my favorite moments was when I had a breakthrough with the 7 year old. His mother had warned me it might take some time for him to become comfortable with me, and their last nanny didn’t work out because she was unable to connect with him. He didn’t like change, and was very shy around strangers. After working with the children for about 2 weeks, the 7 year walked right up to me, very unexpectedly jumped into my arms, and said “I guess we’ll keep you.” It was a funny, heartwarming experience and I’ll never forget that beautiful moment!
