Reading,Writing,different types of arts and crafts, painting,building , finding different things outside and learning about it. I have a " Nanny Bag" filled with different types of activities for all different age ranges.

What matters to me as being a nanny is watching the child/children faces what they have accomplished something they have been working on,learning ect. I also believe that good communication between the child/children's parents a key , and also having a good communication with the child/children as well.
My experience with special needs children...
I have had the pleasure of working at a in home facility called " Sun Shine Haven" this was a home where the children's ages ranged from 1 month to 18 yrs of age. Each one with a different type of special need, some had to be fed by a feeding tube connected to their stomach, their medication was also given to them this way ,some eat only soft foods. I have had the pleasure of working with 2 twin blind boys, autism, ADHD
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have many memories but one of them that I will forever remember is, My 2 twin blind boys. During the summer they had been learning how to swim, I was nervous beyond words. One of the boys says to me " Niki look! i can jump in at the deep end of the pool swim to the bottom and back to the top" While the other brother says " hey! lets show her what we learned the other day in swim class, they then both stand next to one another and jump as far out as they can into the pool and swam all the way to the other end under water. I was beyond proud of them both,cause one of the twins was scared of the pool,he worked so hard at learning how to swim and be ok in the water that now , you cant get them out.

It makes me feel good to give back during this Covid time that we are in.
