The most important part of being a nanny is providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children. This means ensuring their physical safety, meeting their emotional needs, fostering development, and building trust so they feel secure and cared for. Essentially, a nanny combines care, guidance, and consistency to help children thrive.

My experience with special needs children...

As far as special needs children I have worked with ADHD and autistic children with experience of about 3 years. Although it’s still fairly new for me, depending on where they are on the spectrum , I try to be as inclusive as possible when it comes to playtime, so they won’t be excluded. I’ve found that patience and a consistent routine helps things go smoother not just for me but for them as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Children have the most amazing explanations for simple things. I love asking them things like “ What do you think this does?” Or “How do you think these work?” And seeing their curiosity peak and their little brains work up an explanation from their own perspectives.
