More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to my professional nanny experience, I have several years of volunteer and leadership experience working with children of all ages. I previously coached youth sports, where I focused on building confidence, teamwork, and positive relationships with each child. I’ve also provided care for children in church and community settings and have extensive experience supporting families with infants through teenagers. My background has strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for every child in my care.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy planning fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and creativity. Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, reading, sensory play, outdoor walks, playground visits, nature exploration, baking, educational games, and imaginative play. I also enjoy taking children to libraries, parks, and other enriching community activities when appropriate.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and dependable environment where children feel supported and encouraged to grow. I believe in building trusting relationships with both children and parents through open communication, consistency, and patience. My goal is to become a positive role model while helping children learn, explore, and gain confidence every day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience supporting children with special needs through youth coaching and one-on-one care. My experience includes working with children with ADHD, autism, and developmental differences by providing patient, individualized support, maintaining routines, encouraging positive behavior, and adapting activities to meet each child’s unique needs

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was teaching a child how to tie their shoes. We practiced together every day, and after a lot of patience and encouragement, they finally tied them all by themselves. The excitement and pride on their face was unforgettable. Moments like that remind me how rewarding it is to help children build confidence and celebrate their accomplishments.

Hope D. - Seeking Work in Charlottesville

Full-Time Nanny Available in Charlottesville, VA: Hope D.

Hi families! I’m a career nanny with 8+ years of experience specializing in infants and toddlers. I’m currently seeking a full-time position starting after July 11 and hoping to find a family open to me bringing my 12-month-old daughter. This setup has worked beautifully in my current role.

I have experience with nanny shares, pandemic pods, and caring for up to 5 children at once. While comfortable with multiples, I’m ideally looking for a role with one child (ages 1–3) where I can bring my daughter. I studied elementary education, am CPR/first aid certified, and have excellent references.

My care style is screen-free and play-based, focusing on outdoor play, music, sensory activities, and nature-inspired crafts. We enjoy outings to the museum, parks, library, and splash pads, and I host weekly playdates.

I’m looking for a family that values gentle structure, creativity, and learning through play.
