A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Nyjah Joubert, and I am 21 years old and from Houston, Texas. I have 5-7 years of experience in childcare, from working in children's ministry at my church ( infants, toddlers and school aged children) for about 6 years, long-term babysitting for a little over 4 years now, and a little over a year of experience as an RBT in a behavioral clinic ( current employer). My goal is to be a part time nanny, and my schedule is semi flexible.I sincerely enjoy spending time with the little one’s, whether its doing homework after school, playing at the park, or getting ready for bed, I believe that cultivating the gifts and talents inside of them is the most important service I could provide. Instilling an atmosphere that’s Safe and and structured while having LOADS OF FUN!!! My main priority is for the parents to be able to know with 100% certainty that their child is being cared for correctly and is in the best hands possible.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteer every week at my church in the 1-5 year olds currently, and for about 6 years I volunteered in children’s ministry for 1st-6th grade. I have experience in babysitting for families I know and families from nannying websites, etc. I work full time at a behavioral clinic for autistic children and adults. 😊

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Coloring, watching movies, playing outside, hide and seek, going to the park, reading books, going on walks, anything you could think of!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny, is being able to be there for the parents. I absolutely love spending time and fully engaging with the children, but providing for the parents a safe and comfortable atmosphere, while knowing that their child(ren) is being genuinely cared for and loved, as they go about caring for themselves and accomplishing mandatory tasks. Has never ceased to be not be first priority for me as a caregiver and someone who has young ones in my life as well.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with Adhd, autism, and down syndrome at my current full time job.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I first started nannying I was watching these two little girls and I bought all these different types of glitter and coloring pages , crayon, markers, pretty much anything that seems colorful and can get messy, I brought. Of course, me being nervous and scared as a 13 year old who just wanted the children to like me, got so caught up in the moment of having fun with the girls we ended up getting glitter all over the table and floors. Yes this may seem irresponsible and messy, but I cleaned everything back to its original color LOL, and have laughed about that moment with those, now much older girls, to this day.
