I love arts and crafts (my sister is an elementary art teacher so I have lots of ideas), I play violin and love music related activities, and I don't mind assisting children with their school work as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of caring for a child is saftey. As someone who is currently in nursing school, it is of the utmost important to me that all saftey precautions are observed and followed and that children are always in my sight. A child's sense of security is extreamly important to encourage as many children feel anxious about being apart from their parents.
My experience with special needs children...
I've substitute taught special needs classrooms and have a worked with individuals with special needs for community service events. I was also a member of "best buddies" in highschool where I got acquainted with autistic children and hung out as a group.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I've often babysat for my boyfriend's sister. I started babysitting his neice when she was about 2 and now she's 6 years old. I love seeing her grow every time I see her and developing the possitive trustful relationship we have with one another. I'm glad that she can confide in me and I'm another trusted adult in her life.
