A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Olivia Owen, an incoming Senior at Brennan High School with a 4.0 GPA. I’m a varsity swimmer and water polo player, and as the oldest sibling in my family, so therefor I have lots of hands-on experience caring for younger kids and managing daily routines. From volunteering at events at Vacation Bible School, Literacy Night, and the Special Olympics, it has helped me connect with children of all ages and different needs. I’m dependable, energetic, and patient, even when things get busy or a little chaotic! I enjoy helping with homework, playtime, meals, and bedtime routines. I’ve also taught swim lessons at the neighborhood pool and can offer beginner swim lessons to help kids feel safe and confident in the water. I’m currently on the pathway to getting CPR certified. Additionally, I have a driver’s license and my own car, so I’m flexible and ready to support your family however I can! Feel free to message with with any questions or concerns. :)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes several volunteer opportunities and personal responsibilities. I’ve served as a group leader at Vacation Bible School, where I supervised and guided young children through games, lessons, crafts, and snack times in a safe and structured environment. I also volunteered at Literacy Night, helping elementary students engage in reading-based activities and supporting their learning in a fun, encouraging setting. At the Special Olympics, I worked directly with children and young athletes with special needs, providing support, motivation, and care throughout the event. Additionally, as the oldest sibling in my family, I regularly help care for my younger siblings by managing routines, assisting with homework, and creating a positive, nurturing environment at home. These experiences have strengthened my ability to lead with patience, empathy, and responsibility while ensuring children feel safe, supported, and heard.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging kids in fun and meaningful ways! Reading is one of my favorite things to do—I have a big collection of books and enjoy making story time exciting and interactive. I also have lots of games and love playing everything from board games to imagination-based activities. I'm very active and enjoy playing outside, whether it's running around, doing crafts on the porch, or kicking a ball around. I also have a background in swimming and can teach children how to swim or help build their confidence in the water. Overall, I enjoy keeping kids engaged, active, and happy while supporting their growth and creativity.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children can grow, explore, and feel completely themselves. It’s not just about supervision, it’s about showing up with patience, energy, and care every day. I believe kids thrive when they’re heard, encouraged, and engaged, so I always aim to be a steady, dependable presence they can trust. Building that bond with both the children and the family is what makes the role so meaningful to me

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children includes volunteering at the Special Olympics, where I had the opportunity to support and cheer on young athletes with diverse abilities. I helped guide them through activities, offered encouragement, and ensured they felt safe, included, and celebrated. This experience deepened my patience, compassion, and understanding of individual needs. Additionally, I’m participating in a summer program called CAMP CAMP, where I’ll be working hands-on with children and young adults with special needs. This camp is designed to provide a fun, accessible, and inclusive environment, and I’m excited to contribute by helping campers with daily routines, activities, and social interaction. Through both of these experiences, I’ve learned how to meet children where they are, offer consistent support, and create a space where they feel valued, capable, and cared for.
