A little bit about me

I come from a very family oriented background and grew up with three younger sisters, so being around kids has always been a big part of my life. Right now I’m working toward becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) because I’m passionate about supporting kids in positive ways and helping them feel safe, confident, and encouraged to be themselves.
I love keeping kids engaged through things like reading, imaginative play, and spending time outdoors. Outside of work, I enjoy camping, exploring nature, and taking care of my plants. I also love learning new things! I code as a hobby, enjoy traveling, and have a growing interest in language studies (especially French and Russian).
I’m originally from Minnesota, very and a big animal lover so pets are always a bonus!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Working in residential treatment with adolescents, where I support emotional regulation, healthy routines, and positive behavior 24/7. I also grew up helping care for my three younger sisters, which gave me a lot of hands on experience with kids from a young age, as well as babysitting throughout middle school+high school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Imaginative play, outdoor adventures, crafts, reading, and hands-on sensory activities like bubbles, water play, mud kitchens, and exploring nature. I also love doing little projects, playing games together, and finding fun ways to keep kids curious and engaged. I always want to help encourage a Childs interest as well so really delving into what they love and/or being able to share skills I’ve acquired like basic soccer, volleyball, or violin skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The #1 priority above anything is safety. Physical, emotional, and mental safety are extremely important. These things are needed so kids can have a stable environment to trust, grow, and achieve their goals and push in mental development!

My experience with special needs children...

In residential treatment, I worked closely with teens on the autism spectrum as an advocate. I also supported adolescents in the milieu with a range of developmental differences, helping with emotional regulation, communication, and daily structure.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Taking a young teen (12yo) paddle boarding and kayak rafting and supporting them as they stepped outside their comfort zone. I focused on meeting them where they were at helping them build confidence, practice communicating, and slowly gain more trust and independence while learning new skills out in nature. Watching that confidence grow and building that rapport together was really rewarding!
