At school, I was never the kind of person to play along with my classmates. You could call me the not-so-teacher’s-pet. I even help the librarian with stamping books that were to be discarded or refill the cabinet for printer paper. Although those aren’t things that actively help someone younger than me, I would sometimes help teachers with watching my classmates. …without them wanting the help. I just wanted to be helpful. Even if they told me off, I would keep doing it. Other than that mess of words, I don’t have any other experience unless I somehow naturally do.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to play video games all the time. I don’t play outside due to my extreme fear of bugs. I was stung on the cheek by a wasp on the first day of kindergarten. Physical games aren’t my forte but I can deal with it. What matters to me is that the kids are having fun.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters is that everyone’s happy. As a girl with depression, the happiness of others is something I value over video games. Those who know me know that that means a lot. I may not have ever babysat anyone, but I often find myself acting as a parental figure towards my younger cousins, especially compared to my older cousin. I tend to choose their happiness over my own.
