Activities I enjoy doing with children...
In younger age groups, I love to help develop motor skills and heighten their cognitive ability with age appropriate games and activities. In elementary age kids, I enjoy helping with school work, assisting with play dates, participating with activities or sports they enjoy and more. In adolescence, I let them participate and interact as much as they feel comfortable and let them grow into their own person with keeping safety in mind. My help and company will always be as available as they want it to be!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think it’s important to have an open line of communication and expectations between the children, parents and nanny. For example, if there are rules in the house or guidelines the parents have, I would like to be aware and keep those as it would be easier for the children to have consistency.
My experience with special needs children...
In years past and currently, I work at a fire dept that is responsible for aiding and responding to a school for special needs children. These children are typically 3-12.
