I really enjoy being able to be active with children. I believe it is a healthy way to have fun and engage with them during the day. With the weather turning colder, I like to encourage kids to even stay active while watching tv indoors, just to get up and get moving always gets the positive energy flowing!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe it is really important to connect with the child in ways that he/she is comfortable with. I like to bond with the child over special activities they might like to do, or the things they are interested in learning about. It really helps to establish trust between the child and I when they know I'm listening and participating in things that they are interested in.
My experience with special needs children...
In high school one of my classes included being an assistant to the special needs teachers and working with a variety of children.
