Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy any activity that involves exploration of their world. This includes anything from getting messy in nature and crafts, large motor activities, indoors, and out, reading and lots of cuddling and belly laughs (my fav)
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe my role as a nanny/babysitter is to scaffold your child’s development in a safe and fun environment.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked extensively with newborns and infants and I’m highly sensitive to delays and or possible issues.. As the primary caregiver and later the director to many of these children, I was responsible to communicate these concerns and offer information for diagnosis and supportive programs.
Was on a panel as an liaison connecting daycare to service access management (SAM)
Later my youngest son was diagnosed with autism. I was able to identify the red flags and be extremely proactive because of my experience. This afforded my child very early intervention, which greatly benefited his development. and outcome.
Although I was just a teenager, I did volunteer at camp Lily Easter Seals summer camp.
