More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes babysitting for family members and close friends, where I was responsible for planning activities, preparing meals, and ensuring the children were safe and engaged. I’ve also helped take care of my cousin, who has autism, which has taught me a great deal about patience, understanding, and how to adapt activities to fit a child’s specific needs. Additionally, I’ve been involved in volunteer work with children at community events and church activities, where I helped organize games, arts and crafts, and educational sessions. Through these experiences, I developed a strong ability to manage multiple children at once, keep them entertained and safe, and provide emotional support when needed.I

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

1. I love doing arts and crafts with children. It lets them express creativity and develop fine motor skills through activities like drawing, painting, and making seasonal decorations.
2. Outdoor play is another favorite. Whether it’s tag, bike riding, or flying kites, outdoor activities help children stay active and teach teamwork, balance, and coordination.
3. Storytime is something I always enjoy. Reading together boosts language skills and imagination, especially when I bring the stories to life with different voices and interactive questions.
4. Building games are a fun way to foster problem-solving and creativity. Activities like using Legos or blocks help kids think critically, work together, and learn perseverance when things don’t go as planned.
5. Baking is another favorite activity. It teaches kids about following instructions, measuring, and trying new foods. Simple baking projects, like cookies or fruit salad, also introduce healthy eating habits.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with the children you care for. It’s essential to provide a safe and nurturing environment where kids feel loved, supported, and understood. This involves being attentive to their needs, maintaining open communication with parents, and creating a positive atmosphere that encourages their growth and development. Consistency, patience, and flexibility are also key traits to ensure you’re effectively meeting their emotional, educational, and physical needs.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children has been deeply personal, especially since my cousin has autism. Growing up, I saw firsthand how his unique way of experiencing the world shaped the way he interacted with others. It taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and understanding. I learned that communication isn’t just about words it’s about finding the right ways to connect, whether through gestures, visual aids, or simply being there with him.

Spending time with him has made me more aware of the small victories, like when he learns a new skill or has a breakthrough moment, and it has given me a deeper appreciation for the challenges that families face in supporting their loved ones. It’s been a humbling experience that has enriched my understanding of different needs and the beauty of each person’s individuality.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments happened when I was caring for a little girl who was having a tough time learning how to tie her shoes. After a few attempts, she started to get frustrated, but I patiently sat with her and broke it down step by step. On the fifth try, her face lit up when she finally tied her shoes on her own. She jumped up, hugged me, and said, “I did it! You were right, I just needed to keep trying.” That moment made me feel proud, not just because she learned a new skill, but because I got to be part of her confidence-building process. It was a reminder that small victories can mean so much.
