A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Paula Campbell. I'm a mother of one college student. My nanny experience covers 2 children, a girl and a boy. My background is mainly in Executive Assistant, Teaching and The Arts fields. Having those expertise however contributes to the excellence of my Nanny skills.

Understanding the functions and of administrational duties as well as the time, patience and creativity needed for teaching grade school children. Combined with the adventure, and knowing the importance of expression and individuality needed for creative arts, you've gotten yourself a new age Mary Poppins.

All fairytales aside, pouring into our youth, tomorrows leaders is what fills me. One of my favorite poems since childhood is titled "Children Learn What They Live" by Dorothy Law-Nolte. As a child reading that poem, I was taught the value of little people (children). Ultimately it guided me so that I am able to fill our children with confidence, self-respect, integrity, educational values and above love.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love sports and out door activity. I am a professional singer so anything pertaining to musical arts truly makes my heart smile.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a Nanny is making sure the child feels seen and safe. When a child knows that they can trust you, they are more likely to assist in an awesome work and family environment. They are eager to complete task and make better choices because they feel loved and valued. That should be important to every Nanny.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a nephew and a Neice with autism. They are 2 of the most phenomenal humans I know.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite Nanny moment was with Ananda who was 8 years old at the time. She was doing a book report on Oprah Winfrey. I walked away momentarily but returned to see her coping an article from the Internet. I said to her "Ananda, you can't copy someone else's work. That's plagiarism." She responded, not knowing what plagiarism was, "I'm not playing or gerizing!"

That is still the funniest thing to me. I speak to her still and she doesn't remember but it truly tickled me.
