A little bit about me

I've been working with kids in US for 2.5 years but before I move here I had 3 years of experience with kids in Brazil, my home country.

I worked as a live in nanny for three great families taking care of kids from 3 to 12 years old. I also helped with homeschool for a pod with 4 kids (2 were the kids I was normally taking care).
I did occasional babysitting for other families with kids from 4 months to 10 years old too.

I'm kind, patient, very responsible and flexible. I love read, make arts and crafts, listen music, and everything that evolves creativity. I also love to play board games, play pretend, go to parks and easy hikes with the kids I take care. I always try my best to help the kids to understand their feelings encouraging them to express their emotions.

I'm a great swimmer and strong driver with 10 years of experience and NY driver license. Fully vaccinated with a booster and CPR and first aid training.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a children monitor on a NGO in Brazil called Soprar. The institution was in Campinas-SP in a very vulnerable neighborhood. I worked every Saturdays in the morning helping the teachers with the art and reading classes and also helped during break making games and playing with the kids.

The second NGO I worked was also in Campinas - SP in another very vulnerable neighborhood, snowed as the biggest prostitution center of Latin America. There I helped as a teacher assistant usually 3 times a week. We used to have events, and a lot of activities for after school hours helping the kids to have a place to be outside of the streets. The institution also had psychological support and partnership with companies to encourage teenagers to start looking for internships or part time jobs. I used to help with kids from 5-9 years old organizing games, activities, make sure the class have supplies and supporting the kids during the activities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For indoor activities I always try to bring arts and crafts that are appropriate for each age, that helps in motor skills and also in creativity. I like to play pretend and encourage the kids to use their imagination a lot. Dance parties and building things with blocks and legos are also things I really enjoy. With older kids I like to play board games and make origamis or bake.

For outdoor activities my favorite is scavenger hunt. I also like to bring the kids to playgrounds so they can interact with other kids and play free. I like games like hide and seek and What time is Mr Fox, and with older kids sometimes I like to play tag or just throw and kick ball around.
