More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In my early twenties I worked with teens who lived at a boarding school. I taught them life skills, created fun activities for them, and oversaw daily chores.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going to the park, taking short hikes, going to the pool, doing arts and crafts, and imaginative play.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of my job when I am caring for kids is keeping them safe. This includes physically and emotionally. A close second is for kids to get to be kids and have fun and play. As long as the foundations of safety are in place, play is a primary objective for kiddos. Once kids are older and they have more homework and responsibilities, I still value playfulness and creating spaces for kids of all ages to be themselves, whatever that looks like.
My experience with special needs children...
I nannied a toddler who has sensory sensitivities and has ADHD and their parents are exploring if they have autism. (While I was with the kiddo, they had low support needs as far and their parents and I were aware.) The specific skills I used when working with this kiddo were being patient and learning their rhythms to follow as we transitioned from one activity to another, keeping them safe when they had a lot of energy and had no concept of keeping themself safe, and helping them learn how to regulate their emotions and communicate theirvneeds.
I also have a close family member who has two neurodivergent kiddos. I have spent a lot of time with them and recently took care of them for two weeks while their parents were out of town. Their specific needs included keeping to their regular schedule, helping them through transitions, and helping them regulate their emotions when upset.

How to choose? I have such fond memories of dancing for hours and hours to Abba when one toddler loved their music and creating a safe crash pad for that same toddler to jump again and again onto the pillows. He absolutely loved it.

I am a stay at home mom of a 1.5 year old little boy and my oldest (5.5) is in a co-op in town. I currently watch 2 other toddlers one full time and part time and have room for a few more children in my home Monday through Friday between 7am to 430pm. I have 17+ experience in childcare from babysitting all the way to having a Bachelor's in Education. I love teaching kids but when we found out we were pregnant we wanted me to stay home to raise our children. I know this is not feasible for everyone. So, I am offering my expertise and services to others in the area. I believe in letting the kids play and explore as a majority of their learning. They learn so much about their world that way. We also do crafts for fine motor skills and do a little academics in the morning during our calendar time, otherwise, we play, a lot. I cannot wait to meet you and love on your kids.
