A little bit about me

Hey y’all! Born in Washington but raised in Idaho, I’m an Idaho girl to the core! First off, I don’t have kids (yet) but I’m currently married to my love of almost two years:)
I’m not an ounce scared of any breed of an animal. I’m the 4th oldest of 10. I’ve been babysitting my siblings since I can remember! My parents go to Hawaii and Mexico for vacations quite often for 2 weeks+ and I would always watch my six younger siblings. Other than my home life, I’ve been a live-out nanny on and off and I’ve watched kiddos from two weeks old to as old as 16. I was a caregiver for 18+ and for elderly so I have quite a bit of knowledge on caring for all ages. I’ve been babysitting for years and years since I was 11 and I’ll be 21 in the year 2023 so about 10 years now. Currently planning to go into emt school and I’m finishing anatomy and physiology/nutrition certifications for canines. Country girl at heart so if you have kiddos and other animal (and farm animal) needs, I’m your girl!!:)

More About Me

More volunteer or nanny based work. Although my childhood and teenage years I mainly spent babysitting my siblings or other peoples kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything and ALL! I am pretty adventurous, however I respect the parents first, so anything that isn’t clarified with the parent, I won’t do without asking first;)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Respect the parents first, of course! I strive to be overly productive and energetic while nannying. Something about optimism, optimism makes the kids feel more trusting, but essentially I want to create a safe space for the kids to be their uniques selves without feeling standoffish. However, I am aware that those thing do take time, but that’s why the first impression is very important. I could go on and on, but with my own experience in mind, kids just want to have fun and feel validated for how they’re feeling.

My experience with special needs children...

I used to babysit a kiddo and he was amazing , he had special needs so the care he needed was different, but because my little brother is one the special need spectrum I was able too provide him the reassurance and trust he needed to let me help and allow me to care for him.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are SO many! But for one, I was watching a 4 month old and a two year old. One morning when I was watching them the two yr old girl started crying when I picked her baby brother up. I asked her if she was okay, she just sighed, still sobbing, and said “can you hold me too” obviously I could not say no, it was the sweetest and most innocent request. We sat down as her show played and in one arm her brother fell asleep and in the other she curled up with her head in my lap and she also dozed off. Completely unmovable, I just savored moment of pure innocence and cuteness.
