My experience with special needs children...
As a former lead preschool teacher, I had the privilege of working closely with children of varying abilities, including those with special needs. My role required me to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child could thrive, regardless of their developmental challenges. I tailored lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each child, incorporating sensory play, adaptive activities, and visual aids to enhance engagement and learning.
Collaboration was a significant part of my role. I worked closely with parents, therapists, and support staff to develop individualized strategies that supported each child's growth. I also gained experience in implementing behavior intervention plans, using positive reinforcement techniques, and fostering communication skills through sign language and visual schedules.
