A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Rayna Hirsch, and I am currently a senior at UVM studying social work and special education. I am looking to nanny for a family in the Manhattan or Brooklyn areas starting sometime around August I really enjoy working with kids of all ages and of all abilities! I have worked as a camp counselor, a private instructor for dance students with intellectual and developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome, and as a nanny providing care to a 4-month-old infant. Having a car allows me the ability to take the kids wherever they need to go, run errands, and find fun activities to do together! I am a fun, bubbly, and nurturing person who enjoys arts & crafts, yoga, nature walks, reading, and baking!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Shadowed children with disabilities during dance classes; counselor at an afterschool program for children ages 4-8; Nannied a 4-month-old infant.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts & crafts, going on walks, singing & dancing, and baking.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is ensuring that the children I work with are developing the skills they need to be successful in their lives. Whether it's singing to them to help develop language skills or helping them find strategies to regulate their emotions when they feel upset, my role as a nanny is to foster growth in an environment led with joy and warmth!

My experience with special needs children...

In high school I shadowed multiple children with disabilities in their dance classes; volunteered at Special Olympics Youth Athletes - Vermont; councilor at a summer camp in NJ for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This past summer [phone number hidden]), I nannied for an infant starting when he was 3 months old.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Witnessing the baby I nannied roll into his stomach for the first time!
