A little bit about me

Hey y’all, I’m Juniper, but everyone calls me Juni. I was born right here in Lansing, but have lived in Georgia near Atlanta for the last decade. I have always had a knack and a passion for childcare. I grew up in a large family, so from the beginning I was responsible for helping care for my younger siblings. In college I worked as an ASP teacher and floater for a nearby daycare. This fueled my interest in early childhood development. I went on to achieve my B.S. in Psych with a focus in childhood development and a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. However, after a family tragedy, I decided it was best to come back home and build my life and career here. I have spent the last year working for a wonderful family and caring for their first child. They won’t be needing me as often because the grandparents have retired and will be helping.

The most important part to me is working together with a family to understand and meet their needs. Each family is different; each child needs specific care. With good communication and understanding, we become a team, giving their kiddos the best coordinated care we can.

My experience with special needs children...

All of my siblings are adopted and have come into our family with varying needs. So personally I have experience with a variety of behavioral and learning disorders. In a professional environment, my experience is more limited but still includes children with learning disabilities, ADHD, and Autism.
