More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have always enjoyed caring for and teaching children, and have a professional background in education and social work, focusing on direct service with children and families.
To supplement my income and help those I know with datenights, I've cared for children of all ages in their homes for decades. Beginning in 2018 I began nannying fulltime, and some of these connections had parents working in their homes during my shift, which is an added joy. I'm comfortable managing multi-age groups, and hourly rates adjust accordingly.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy keeping kids busy inside and outside, and there's no end to the joy of learning through play, especially for children 6 and under! For those in primary school, finding time to play is vital, and the blending of schoolwork and extracurricular responsibilities is a balancing act I have always found enjoyable. As a caregiver and educator I enjoy letting children's imagination guide the interest areas, and tailor the activities to this lead

The most important part about being a nanny...

Simply put, I enjoy adding value and joy to the lives of children and the parents who love them. Whether within my primary profession, or through occasional 'kidsitting', I believe in supporting the Family Unit in my career. Nannying allows me to help and serve in a unique way, one that allows for a personal touch because I'm in YOUR HOME! I consider that a privilege, and appreciate being able to supplement my income with such meaningful, important work.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a background in education and social service, working directly children and parents. Much of my work has focused on family support services with diverse cultural and socio-economic communities, with clients having concurrent emotional and behavioral health issues.
