A little bit about me

Formally a preschool teacher from two different , star four keystone star centers. Reference letters may be provided if requested. I’ve lead infant/toddler classrooms. As well as preschool classrooms. I am also an AmeriCorps Alumni. While working with AmeriCorps, specifically City Year. I taught a focus list of 16 students. Age range 9-12.

I am CPR certified, I have my clearances to work with children. I have a warm strict approach. Meaning I provide the love & warmth qualities of a nurturer. However, I also set clear cut boundaries & stick to them. I love to be creative, so we will have endless projects to share. I enjoy finding new opportunities to learn & grow. I will introduce cultural awareness, specifically in food & appropriate music. I am a firm believer in children learning through play. We will cook, play outdoors, create new art work, & enjoy music & movement daily. While also providing the basic necessities needed for the appropriate age range.

Outdoor activities such as bubbles, chalk, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, & tag other traditional games .
I enjoy painting, clay making, slime, play dough.
We will bake together, & create easy meals. Gain a sense of independence while having an amazing time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is consistency. In my experience, children work well with consistent schedule based itineraries. Even with the adults &/or role models. They should see a constant face more often than not. Which is why being present both physically & mentally is important once involved in the child’s life. Plus the bond you have with your nanny is unforgettable. So it’s important to leave a great impression overall.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked in multiple schools & have worked with children on the autism spectrum. I am very observant, & I will ensure the child is comfortable as well as understood to the best of my ability.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment is when children persevere through obstacles they believe are too difficult for them. For example, at my most recent child care center. All of the children ages 3-5 believed they were incapable of opening their twist top applesauce pouches. We worked on it everyday during lunch & snack. Their faces were priceless when they were finally able to open the pouch by themselves. It shows them that they can do things that are “hard” & they are filled with joy & courage because they did something that they thought they couldn’t. I love to witness them gain that confidence.
