Through my graduate training in Speech-Language Pathology, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with children with a variety of developmental and communication needs. As a Graduate Assistant at the DuBard School for Language Disorders, I supported children with language disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and apraxia of speech in both classroom and one-on-one settings, assisting with academic tasks, social communication, and behavior regulation using visual supports and consistent routines. At the USM Speech and Hearing Clinic, I’ve provided therapy to children with speech and language delays, fluency disorders, motor planning difficulties, and Down syndrome. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and celebrating small successes, and have deepened my passion for working with children with special needs and supporting their growth across daily routines.
