Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing outside with my sisters whether it is swimming, sports, bubbles/chalk, scavenger hunts, bikes/scooters, or having picnics. Inside I love to imaginary play (family, doctor, restaurant, etc) build forts, do a move night, bake, slime/Play-Doh, art projects, Barbies, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Accountability. being present with the child or children not being distracted by your personal life and/or problems. Also being reliable to the family being on time and available.
My experience with special needs children...
I was in Collaborative mentoring for 4 years in highs school which is where we spent 2 hours a day in the special needs class and worked on school work with them, organized fun activities for them and to do with them, and just spent time with them. Inclusion is key.
The most important part about being a nanny...
From babysitting honestly it’s just the bond you share with the child that you are watching. It’s an amazing feeling to be trusted with someone’s child and being able to share important moments in their lives whether they’re learning to walk or acing their math facts. Every moment is special.
