A little bit about me

I am "Mumma" to a two year old girl. I would prefer to have her with me, but I can be flexible.

I encorporate Montessori philosophies into my caregiving. I maintain a largely screen free home, so I have experience helping kids get creative and enjoy "the real world".

I thrive on clear boundaries and rules from parents, and I am comfortable with pushback from kids - they can express their feelings, and perhaps we can find an acceptable alternative.

I regularly help my friends and family with laundry, organization, and meal prep while visiting. I have earned a food handlers permit twice in the past few years, though it is not current. I currently have a strong interest in increasing my ability to cook from scratch.

I've spent over one thousand hours studying psychology, trauma, mental illness, health, communication, parenting, and human development.

My experience with special needs children...

I have significant experience with autistic individuals, and children with ADHD. Most of my experience is within my extended family, not a professional setting.
I also have a bit of experience with young teens with down-syndrome.
I have very little experience with people who need assistive devices.
