I wasn't nannying but when I was 16 one of my neighbor's kids was over, a 3/4-year-old girl. I was sitting on the stairs and the girl was a foot or two away talking, she had a mint that one of the other kids had given her. all of a sudden she stops and starts walking towards me with a shocked expression and a hand on her throat. I realized what was happening and quickly pulled her over my knee and hit the middle of her back a few times until the mint fell out onto the stairs. She coughed a bit and asked for a cup of water but she was perfectly ok! I was quite proud of my instincts at the time!
