A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Abigail but most people call me Sage. I am 17 and am taking time off from school to pursue my dream of working with children. I have 120 volunteer hours at Camp Invention working with Pre-k and Kindergarten aged kids. I can provide my certificates for this and references with camp managers and instructors so they can tell you about how I work with little ones. I also have done a good amount of paid babysitting (part-time). It is important to note that I do not have a drivers license but I am working on getting one. I have multiple reliable means of transportation to get to and from your house. I would prefer someone who is less than 30 minutes from my home, although I am not opposed to working outside of this. I am not first aid or CPR certified but I do know basic CPR and first aid skills. I am also very creative and love crafting with children and helping them thrive creatively! My mother is a teacher so I have grown up watching how she successfully works with kids.

I have done a camp for elementary schoolers called Camp Invention for the past three years. It is a week long camp and I can provide my completion certificates for each year along with references of camp managers. Each camp week is 40 hours of volunteer work.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love helping children in every way I can! I try to keep them away from screens while learning to minimize distractions and help keep them from becoming reliant on devices. I have found that rewards like candies and toys are very beneficial. I can help with homework, play and teach games, and teach important skills like math, reading, and writing. I am also creative and love painting and I play three instruments, so I love crafting with little ones.
