More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve babysat since middle school for my neighbors. Going into high school I was a part of the special Ed program where I would hang out and interact with the kids. I have some experience because of that with children who need extra attention.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When I’m with any kid I love to be outside. I love going to the beach, going to the park or even just going on walks. I love being creative outside as well. Even if it’s just playing with chalk on the driveway. I also love to create projects using paper, glue, and various materials. Baking and cooking are one of my favorites to do with kiddos because of how fun it is and they get to be hands on. I enjoy doing board games and card games or just reading to them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny in my eyes is building a trusting and nurturing relationship with the children. This involves providing a safe environment, being attentive to their emotional and developmental needs, and communicating effectively with both the children as well as (you), their parents. Establishing trust helps children feel secure, allowing them to thrive and learn in my care.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked in the WAVE program at my high school which involved integrating the special needs children in with the rest of the school so they can socialize and meet new people. As well as feel like they were a part of the school. I was partnered up with this wonderful girl named Katie and she had autism. I would hang out with her during class as well as have her join my friends and I at lunch. She was an amazing drawer particularly characters so she would always draw me pictures of the characters in Charlie Brown. When I graduated she came to my graduation ceremony for school as well as my personal graduation party. My mom was very familiar with her as well as her mother I still talk to Katie to this day!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was babysitting one of my neighbors children my senior year and I was just putting some things away and tidying up the living room. I was playing music and the two girls I was babysitting started to dance and we all just danced around the living room had and laughed while I was cleaning and it was just something that will always make me smile.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Arlington, MA: Alexia S.
Hi! My name is Alexia but I go by Lexi, I have worked at the Arlington Boys and Girls Club for three years. Growing up I’ve always been the oldest sibling, the built in babysitter if you will, so childcare has always just come naturally to me. In my years at the ABGC, I’ve worked with many children with many different types of disabilities, home lives and learning preferences. At home I have a 3 year old brother and I have helped raise him along side my mom since my dad can’t be in the picture as much do to work. My best age range to work with would be 6-10 but I can open myself up to working with younger or older! I think that all children are blessings and it’s so hard to grow up with the world changing everyday. I grew up in Lowell so I understand the difficulties of life and having to persevere through the tough times. I am CPR and First Aid certified so your child will always be in good hands.
