A little bit about me

Hello! I'm salma. I am an honors student at UIC I am a pre-med, majoring in biology in hopes of becoming a psychiatrist. I am also CPR certified. I have been a Nanny for 6 years now . My experience with childcare comes from my mother, who has been a nanny for 14 years. Learning from her, working with children became more than just a job for me, I have worked with babies 8 months to children of ages 14. I have also worked with kids who have ADHD, ADD, as well as autism . I know every child and parent have different likes and interests, wether it is going out doors and being active, or staying inside for arts and crafts. I try to really help kids grow through the activities we do together no matter what they may be. I am also bilingual and I like to teach the kids that I nanny some Spanish (with parents OK of course). I am looking for either part time and Weekends/ overnights if needed. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My previous family was a family of 4 kids. Responsibilities included were taking the kids to after school activities and sports such as, hockey, soccer, dance, speech therapy. I prepped meals and helped with homework. For the toddlers that I work with, it’s a lot of play time which can be educational. Outings are also a great way to expand their social bubbles, places like the park, library, childrens museum, zoos, etc.

Indoor: arts and crafts, building(Lego’s or blocks, anything tinker friendly l), sensory projects, baking.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The. Most important part about being a nanny to me is having patience and love to the kids one works with. They are all different and some need a little extra care and reassurance! You need to be able to enjoy the job as well and that is apart of the knowledge you have with kids. Nannying and house mamanaging is a lot at times but it shouldn’t feel miserable it should feel fun and comfortable!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have to many, but I think the best part about nannying is when i finally build a bond with the kids and I can start to see that they are super loving and caring towards me because they can see I am someone who’s there to protect and guide them!
