A little bit about me

Hi there, people call me CoCo though my name is Salowa. I was a teacher at Bixby School , for 15 years in Boulder CO before becoming a nanny 5 years ago. I’m also an artist. My intention is to be a true help to the family. I like children of all ages and am good with one child or a few more.
I love to read stories and play games. Also, anything at the craft table or fun home science projects. It’s always age-appropriate.
Just keep them company and make sure they feel safe. I am current in First Aid and CPR certified for children, infants and adults. I have a long back-round of Art and Science so I can be a good source there. It is great to be outside with kids, find parks and playgrounds together. I am skilled in following commitments and helping maintain your families routines. I am a responsible driver, I am mindful of you child's needs, and I'm a people person.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a preschool teacher and art teacher at Bixby preschool in Boulder from 2004 to 2017. I have been a nanny ever since.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading stories to kids and taking walks. I enjoy doing art projects and age of appropriate science projects with kids. I have done plenty of swimming with children so I can take them to the rec center. It’s fun to go outside to parks and find great playgrounds

My experience with special needs children...

I have some background with kids that I worked with who were ADHD, an old boy who was dual diagnosed schizophrenic, and a child in wheelchair.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite Nanny moments are when you’re in the middle of a day and things are just going along fine and a child looks up from whatever project or thing they’re playing and they realize they’re having fun too and it’s all in a comfortable groove. I have these moments quite often actually with kids, I also don’t mind having the harder times because we’re all human beings and we need to be able to be comfortable with ourselves and others
