My experience with special needs children...
I have worked in both a school and clinical setting with special needs children. I have worked on an inpatient pediatric psychiatric unit. I spent a lot of time teaching and sharing coping skills and tools for the kiddos to learn how to interact and understand their emotions.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While teaching in special education, I worked with many students who had learning disabilities. One of my students was non verbal, so we communicated with sign language. It was amazing to watch them learn and communicate with me. It was so gratifying to see them grow and learn new social skills.
