A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Samantha and I have worked in childcare for two years. I have a degree in English and Secondary Education from Michigan State University. I bring a balance of warmth, structure, and creativity into every child’s day. I’m not just someone who watches children—I engage with them, nurture their curiosity, and help them feel seen, heard, and safe. With a background in education and a natural ability to connect with kids of all ages, I believe in fostering an environment that supports both emotional growth and daily fun. Whether it’s helping with homework, planning enriching activities, or managing routines with care and consistency, I treat every family I work with as a team—and every child as uniquely special.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have two years of experience working in childcare through before- and after-care programs as well as summer camps. In these roles, I was responsible for supervising large groups of children, planning engaging activities and crafts, supporting homework time, and, most importantly, building strong relationships to ensure each child felt safe, heard, and cared for.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading books together and bringing stories to life
Creating fun arts and crafts projects
Going on nature walks and exploring outside
Building forts and playing imaginative games
Visiting parks, playgrounds, or museums
Baking simple recipes together
Helping with homework and learning through play
Doing kid-friendly science experiments
Playing board games or puzzles
Setting up scavenger hunts or treasure maps

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with special needs, including those with ADHD and autism. I support their routines with patience, clear communication, and a focus on creating a safe, encouraging environment where they can thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my kids had recently discovered his love for drawing. It was such a joy for me to see him enjoy creating things and see the pride he had in himself for his work. I loved encouraging and fostering his new skill with kind and supportive words. He ended up drawing me a goodbye picture when I last saw him.
