A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Samantha, but I go by Sam. I’m 19 years old and have been working with children for about six years. I’ve always had a genuine love for childcare and find a lot of joy in creating safe, engaging, and supportive environments where kids can learn and grow.
I’m currently in the process of moving to California to begin attending community college, where I plan to study finance while continuing to work in childcare. I really value both structure and growth, and I’m excited to build a future that combines education with meaningful work.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time in coffee shops, and anything that feels calm and cozy. I love spending time in any sort of nature! Beaches or mountains... I appreciate it all! I also love being active and staying busy, whether that’s with work, the gym, school, or just everyday life. I’m someone who is dependable, caring, and easy to be around, and I truly enjoy forming long-term connections with the families I work with.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

A relevant time where I cared for children was helping raise my younger brother, who is several years younger than me. From a young age, I took on a supportive role—feeding him, changing diapers, helping with bedtime routines, and entertaining him with games and stories. As he grew, I continued to help with homework, emotional support, and day-to-day care. That experience shaped my nurturing instincts and taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and being a steady, comforting presence for a child. It’s one of the reasons I naturally connect with kids and genuinely enjoy caring for them.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging children in fun, age-appropriate activities that spark their creativity and curiosity. Some of my favorite things to do include outdoor adventures like nature walks, park play, and scavenger hunts, as well as hands-on crafts like painting, coloring, and seasonal DIY projects. I enjoy encouraging imaginative play, reading stories together, and creating a safe, supportive space where kids can learn, explore, and express themselves.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow into their best selves. It's about showing up with patience, empathy, and a genuine connection—being someone they can trust, laugh with, and learn from every day.

My experience with special needs children...

I also have experience working with children who have special needs, including caring for a sweet boy with an autism diagnosis and a NICU baby who required oxygen support and close monitoring. These experiences have deepened my patience, attentiveness, and compassion in caregiving.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was teaching the last little boy I cared for how to walk. I had been encouraging him day by day—holding his hands, cheering him on, and helping him build the confidence to take those first wobbly steps. Then one afternoon, it happened—he let go, took a few steps toward me, and I caught the moment on video. It was so special to celebrate that milestone with him and his family. Moments like that remind me how meaningful and rewarding this work is, and how much love and joy is shared in the little things.
