Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience as an intern in an ASD pre-k room at Haynes-Inman for two years, as well as two years interning at multiple daycares, working with infants up to pre-k. I have basic school age care certification, and I was previously an active assistant to a children’s youth group. I have experience in making lesson plans of fun learning-based activities, as well the ability to help out with school work. In high school, i took four semesters worth of Early Childhood Education.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy getting children outside to play and use their imagination while also being able to get in some exercise. I may not be the most athletic, but i’m willing to give anything a try that your child may be interested in! Indoors, I love being able to make crafts or projects that are both entertaining and educational, especially science projects! I have lots of experience with board games, pretend/imaginary games of their interest, spending time reading, indoor exercise, and i’m always willing to give anything new a try!

My experience with special needs children...
I have had experience through multiple years interning at Haynes-Inman. I spent most of my time in a low-functioning autism pre-k class room, where I was able to learn alternative ways to help children accomplish basic tasks, as well as take on new learning projects that they can find interest in. At the same school, I was also placed into a wheelchair bound high-school classroom, where most students were nonverbal. I was given the opportunity to learn briefly about feeding tubes and special diets as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I’ve been watching two girls since they were infants, and now that they are 9 and 7, it’s amazing to see how they’ve grown into such intelligent little children! I love the bond as babysitter that i get to form with all of the children i get to meet!
