More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have relevant experience caring for children through my role as a Unit Leader at Interlochen Arts Academy, where I worked with kids from diverse backgrounds to help them connect, develop their artistic skills, and ensure their well-being. Additionally, as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, I’ve supported and guided young people, fostering emotional growth and providing a safe, nurturing environment. These experiences have allowed me to build strong relationships with children, helping them thrive in creative and personal development.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging children in creative activities like drawing, painting, and storytelling, which allow them to express their emotions and imagination. I also love cooking together, reading books, and encouraging play that sparks curiosity and learning. Additionally, I enjoy helping children identify and talk about their feelings, fostering both emotional and creative growth.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel heard, supported, and valued. It's about building trust, fostering emotional growth, and encouraging creativity, all while maintaining a sense of consistency and reliability. The goal is to not only care for their needs but also to help them thrive—emotionally, socially, and creatively.

My experience with special needs children...

I have significant experience working with special needs children, as my brother is on the spectrum, and I’ve grown up learning to support and understand his needs. I attended an integrated elementary school, where I worked alongside students with various special needs, fostering an inclusive environment. My mother, who works with students on the spectrum, has further influenced my understanding. Additionally, I have a background in psychology, which has equipped me with tools to support children’s emotional and developmental needs effectively.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I helped a child express their feelings through drawing after a tough day at school. They were struggling to communicate their emotions, but through art, they opened up and shared what was bothering them. Seeing the relief and sense of accomplishment on their face after they expressed themselves was incredibly rewarding. It was a powerful reminder of how creative outlets can help children process their emotions and build trust in their caregiver.
